Question

Any ideas on whether this makes any difference to performance? If so, does it only work on imports, or will it make difference to UK cars?

Thanks all

Matt

Matt, you won't know, but this is an oft discussed old chestnut, something like the SUL/UL debate.

Do a search on this using the facility up in blue on top right of forum list. It's pretty obvious how you do it.

You might want to try a search on ECU reset too.

Good luck.

Matt, you will find that your car will run far smoother due to an extra 2 ron or so with bit more power extractable should you decide to tune the car. Possibly better economy too.

Sunil,

Did you have your car from new ?.

With all those mods it looks like it ought to have mad performance. Does it ? How much did it all cost ?

I assume that when you talk about "tuned" you mean loads of mods like yours. Mine just got a SS rear box and ITG air filter.

I do run it on 98 RON fuel so I suppose every little hepls!

Cool

Well, i guess the advantages of having a couple of extra ron may be more apparent in a car that is more tuned.

Yep, had my car from new. Oops forget to mention the new Forge Motorsport recirulating dump valve supplied & fitted by BRDevelopments.

Cost, ooh

Lets see (approx)

Link ECU by BRDev - 1k
SS Downpipe - 350
SS Backbox - 305
Magnex decatt centre - 80
SS GRPA Brembo 4 pots - 1600
Blitz cone induction - 200
HKS Iridium race plugs - 65
Intercooler splitter by Michael Ferries - 25
Forge Dump valve - 141

Erm, i'd say cost around 3k. The price of a half decent watch, good hi-fi, a couple of holidays (maybe more, maybe less!)

I have gotten used to it but i am told by those who have driven her that it could be the best UK spec (for the level of tune).

Regards

Sunil

sounds like a far amount of works been undertaken. I'd love to do the same, also have an MY99, but finances simply don't allow.

I need to take it slower - SS back box only so far, with imminent quick shift and dump valve.

Give me a couple of years andI'm sure I'll be there!!!!!!!!!!!!
