And the irony is, I'm stuggling to sell my decent MY93 for a sensible price (or at least sensible compared to some prices you see out there) and it's in good nick!

It doesn't seem to long ago, that people on here were complaining that used scoobs weren't bringing good money?? If you are selling your car, then I would guess you'd want the best price possible. If you don't get shut then you lower the price, just because a buyer wants to pay less than your asking price doesn't mean that it's over priced! 8k for a my/00 your living in cloud cuckoo land!! take a look in the autotrader at some my/00 prices it will open your eyes, And I for one wouldn't let my my/00 go for under 13k!!!

I don't understand the whole Autotrader thing. agree that prices there seem exceptionally high and have seen MY 00 cars for £13k plus. Have to wonder how many are actually selling at that price though. I have not been able to shift an MY01 51 reg with low milage for £11.5k. I know the bug eye is less popular but when I see old shape MY00 with triple the milage advertised for £2k+ above mine I am wondering who is buying them.

I would say late classic shapes will sell for mroe than an early bug eye, simple case of supply and demand. People want classics, don't want bug eyes :/.

A car is only worth what someone will pay for it, if a buyer sees something as overpriced, no matter what the owner thinks, they will not buy it. Does that mean the buyer is wrong or the seller?

I would like a nice MY98 uk car, seen a few on the trader for around 8k, that'd do me.

A local performance car outfit has just sold a late UK MY00 may even have been registered 01.

Advertised with 33000miles, one owner and full Subaru history for £12k, they had it in for a couple of months then dropped the price to £11499 and it sold within a couple of weeks.

I have a 96 uk turbo standard apart from scooby ecu with 67 thousand miles that will be for sale in the next two weeks it has full service history and will soon have four new tyres. It had new brake pads about 2k miles ago leather interior and tracker monitor with subscription paid for another three or four months. It has a couple of parking dents on the drivers side door but I am currently getting prices to get these fixed. It was buzz's old car and I am sure he will be happy to tell you more about it as would a few of the people who were asked for forst refusal if i sold it.
I will be asking for six thousand when I put it on here.

Why not just go to the 'jap' auctions and buy one direct? I got a superb MY94 Type RA last year for just over £3500.00
