Handling...OK left.... Rubbish right..?
Hi ,
Just got back from a bit of track practice for the first time in my P1.
The track was an oval and I got a good chance to go round it both ways.
What I did find is that the car go's MUCH better round the left hands bends (loads of grip) but understeers dramatically on the right handers. I have the Pirreli P zeros all round. Tyre pressures were fine.
Any ideas why this is? What could be wrong with my under-carraige?
Thanks....

Could be a number of things....has your car ever been in an accident...is it's chasis bent?....Have you recently changed any suspension components?....ask someone to drive behind you as you drive straight ahead . Your car should be travelling with the rear wheels following in the tracks of the fronts...not to one side or the other...which is crabing...this would cause wierd handling characteristics...
Even if that proves inconclusive I'd get the geometry checked as a matter of course...4 wheel setup as per Powerstation for example.
The general condition of suspension components could be at fault...a failed/failing damper, cracked spring, knackered bushes..busted anti rollbar droplink....
A visual check would be a good place to start....

If theres a difference of 2 degrees castor/camber between sides this will make it handle strangely, camber and castor should be the same both sides unless you are oval racing and only goaround one way.... Toe would usually be given as mm,but remember that the rear is adjustable as well as the front on an Impreza,so you could have an error front/back as well as side/side,wrt to toe..
