just had a near miss for 3 points, was driving home and was behind a ford fiesta the 2 people inside were more interested in talking and drove between 25-30mph, as soon as i got a safe stretch of road i put my indicator on and went to overtake as i did this i glanced into the cars cabin as i always do and seen 2 uniformed officers i imediately slowed and pulled in front of the car. as the officers flashed me to stop i got out and approached them and complained that they were driving along at 25mhp and thats why i overtook they told me to be carefull in future as you never know who you are overtaking and sent me on my way. they were even laughing so i knew this was a slow down speech

thank god that i just went to over take normally ortherwise i think points would of been involved

after seeing that many unmarked cars on the roads im pleased i have the sense to check a car before i floor it or better still dont floor it

 

It's not illegal to overtake a police car.

 

correct - I got a strange look from a coppice man I overtook in the rain - he was in a minging astra and even had his blue flashing lights on.. classic

 

how did they flash you? with the blue lights? or head lights? maybe they was off duty sharing a car home thus not being able to actually do you for anything ???? just a thought?

didnt think a fiesta would be a classic under cover car for the police?

 

yup its not illegal to overtake a police car and ive done it before, but they dont like you overtaking them when they are driving at the speed limit

thats what Im saying, how do u know they was on duty? how do u know they aint finished a shift and they was on their way home.

if the fiesta was an undercover car surely it'd have blue lights behind the grill etc

 

When I was 23 I had my first 205 GTi - going to work this young copper cuts me up in a crap Astra. The old red mist set in and stupidly I decided to race with him as he was flying.

We had a good old race for a while with him laughing, then i slowed down

 

no they were on duty they were a few mile from the local police station and heading in the opposite direction if they were going back

its just nice when you spot something slow down accordingly and then know nothing can be done apart from telling you to slow down even though i was only doing 35mph which he couldn't prove anyway as i was side by side when i was doing that and its normal practice to speed up while overtaking

 

... maybe they were just very happy that they had won first prize at the fancy dress party and were on their way back to the costume hire shop ?

 

were they traffic???? fiesta pah!! floor it a f**k off! lol only joking!!!
