Default Exhaust change and Knocklink activity?

Ok, I'm getting the big red LED so I'm a little worried.

I have just changed the exhaust on my MY98 WRX from this

3" open neck downpipe with freeflow cat into a standard 2.5" system

to this

same down pipe into a 2.5" straight through centre section and magnex rear box

and have been getting the red LED lighting up at around 6k in 4th and 5th.
I have now done an ECU reset and it seems to be ok?

So can an exhaust cause this much difference?

Oh, and its run on Optimax and OB all the time.

are the KL lights going up with the revs? if so its detecting engine noise m8.

what you need to be concerned about is if its lighting the two greens, for example, and then suddenly flashing up to the red.

sudden increases=problem, gradual increase=engine noise (usually)

Ok now, no knocklink activity.

I am however getting a sort of "hunting" at around 80mph constant throttle.

It as if its missing slightly.

Any ideas?

Yep

Reset ECU.

www.derekcarswell.co.uk and it is on there somewhere.

That should sort it all out.

Done that, no joy.But it does look as if I have a small leak on the exhaust on the centre section. Is that enough to cause my symptoms.

Oh right

Take it off, use some exhaust paste and put it back on. Its down to fault finding now.
