Is it a case of "not enough time"?

Neither alternative is a difficult job for a reasonably competent DIY'er.
(I should know, as I've done both + cambelt change.) I'd offer to help, but I'm nowhere near W.Sussex.

Mart, if your looking at spending that sort of mullah, why not pick up a turbo engine and drop it straight in, stealthy, nice I'll fetch me jacket.

good luck mate, you have my number if your really desperate for a hand. **

Andy

** you would need to be REALLY desperate to require my help, but the offer stands.

I've done the cam belt on my turbo twice now. Once when it was due for a change, and once when I changed the oil seal. It's managed to survive for 10k miles since then.

It's the easiest cambelt I've done - just take the fan off the rad and you've got loads of space. (The others were all transverse mount engines, apart from the Lo-cost 2 litre Pinto.) You've just got to be careful how you treat the tensioner - read the manual carefully.

I have a new belt for a NA Scoob (sent to me in error). I'm not sure if it's the 1.8 or 2.0 twin cam (not quad cam) but you can have it if it's any good to you. I'll get a part no. sent to you.

Is Jap Village still there?

I tried to call them a couple of weeks back to enquire about getting an ECU fitted, the phone just rang and rang.

Ended up getting the number of a neighbouring business and asked them if JV was still there and was told no??

I use GDA, http://www.gdasportscars.co.uk/ admittedly I dont own a Scoob, but its one of their specialties.

Speak to Graham, he built my engine

Hmmm wonder what happened to them, the guys I got through to didnt know if they had folded or just moved.

I would have assumed if they'd just moved they would have taken their phone number with them or put a divert on it or at least an answer phone message.
