Default HKS SQV Inserts

Hmmmm - I have just fitted a gold insert to my SQV purchased via the SN GB and have found that it makes no difference to the sound of the dump release at all ? I had read that Silver is standard, gold higher pitch and louder and purple quieter and deeper sound ?? I did hold the silver and gold inserts next to one another and they are exactly the same ?? It appears that the Gold insert appears to be more for visual improvement - which I have to say it does look slightly better than the silver.

Just thought I'd share this with you all cos there is a current Group Buy for the inserts is there not ? I actually have the Purple insert on order btw - which having studied does look different in design.

Quote from HKS website for you.

Gold coloured triple fin inserts that produce the same unique aggressive blow-off sound, as the standard silver inserts are available as an optional replacement, as are metallic purple inserts that produce a lower frequency sound over the standard item. A re-circulating fitting, which re-routes the discharged compressed air back into the intake stream, is also available.

GOLD/SILVER = Same

Hello All

When I had the SSQV on my car, I tried the different coloured inserts and they sound nearly idenical too me..

I then fitted the re-circ adaptor, as I had a HKS Superpower flow air filter system, It made the dump noise a bit quieter, but not much to be honest

If you go to www.hkseurope.com and get thier number and give them a call, they will tell you who stocks the re-circ adaptors... I got mine in two days..

http://www.funkyproduct.co.uk/item.p...tTypeNumber=76

if link doesn't work, got to

www.funkyproduct.co.uk

Subaru, impreza, turbo's,nos etc.. tis at top of page £14.00 as far as i am aware it is 25mm diameter, so you will need some 25MM internal diameter silicon hose and clips

Deviant-extremely kind offer mate but looking at the feedback on these things I dont think I'd see that much of a change in the sound.

Thanks for the offer though.

Regards

The other end goes in the housing between MAF and turbo. I had to get a hole drilled and a 25mm pipe welded to my housing.

Then hose you fit on and clamp down with jubilee clamps.

The dumped air goes out of dump valve and back into air system after MAF.

Why is the reason you are fitting a re-circ adaptor... performance issues or to quieten down the dump noise. if it is the latter and you have a standard airbox this will make a difference IMO, If you have a Powerflow or cone filter it will make it a bit quieter, but not a huge amount.
