Question To high an octane rate?

I was just wondering if you can have to high an octane level?
I managed to con the doreen into allowing me to buy a case of that nf o/b and it states it can raise the level but upto six points. So if im on optimax at 98 ron and put some of this turbo blaster stuff in! it then goes to 104 ron on average. Being that Jap cars are designed to run on 100, will this act a positive or negative thing?

Also with Ref to N/f. How much should i put in the tank if i put a tenner in? I more often than not only ever put a tenner in than fill up, so how long would a bottle last at that rate?

Sorry to go on!!

Thanks you lot!

I use a sixth of a bottle of NF race formula to a tankful on road, a third on track.

As far as increasing the RON rating too far, I am guessing that it can only run so much advance and no more, so would get to a point where adding any more was futile?

There are a few petro-chem guys post on here, they can advise you better than my guesswork

cheers,
simon

By octane points, they mean 0.1 octane numbers. So, 6 octane points = 0.6 RON increase. This seems a little low, but then 6 numbers seems a little high (though quite possible with a metalic additive). J

Edited, because I'd been speaking cr@p

I thought nf was varied in its quality it varies from bottle to bottle.

Millers is more consistant and easier to get hold of, under £25 for 10 bottles from scoobymania.
Also 1 bottle to a tank!

Where does this crap about the variable quality of N.F. come from?

Read the label on Octane plus and refer to the tech data sheet available from Millers Oils and then you may wish to correct your post and stop dishing out duff information.
For best results on Millers products, use CVL at the rate of 1 bottle (250mls) per 20 litres petrol. So 3no. bottles per full tank. Not intended for prolonged use on catalytic convertor equipped exhausts.
IF Optimax is 98.3 RON 86.9 MON CVL as described above ie 3 no. bottles per 60 litres, will take optimax to 100.8 RON and 89.2 MON.

I have independant test results for NF which shows 3mls per litre adds 2.8 RON so Optimax would go from 98.3? to 101.1 RON with half a bottle of NF Race Formula.

NF one shot is 50% Factually better than millers, based on NUL.....and thats the weakest formula.

6 RON based on NUL is the increase.
