Booked the scoob in today with Bell & colville in Horsley, asked the guy on the phone roughly what the cost would be, he said "around £850 sir" nearly fell off my forklift!
The service is dear, but not usually that dear. Have Bell & Colville looked over it and given you an estimate? It may be that they're quoting for extras like discs and pads, if they're ready for doing. A standard 90k service as per the book with no extras should cost you between £500 and £700 depending on who you go to. Any less than the lower figure and the (expensive) cam belt is unlikely to be a proper Subaru-approved part. Which you really need it to be.
All oils, fluids, filters and cam belt are done at this service.
Shop around.

I heard rumours that it was expensive but never this much, the car had new discs and pad last service and needs nothing except the main service, so this is o.t.t then??
I would say £750 is the upper limit you should pay, at a big place like that. Ideally, you want a smaller place you can trust that will give you the best labour price and use approved parts. The plugs are replaced at this service as well; as a rough guide, the correct plugs as supplied by a main dealer are £50+ (not fitted, and they're awkward to fit) whereas you can get the exact same plugs (NGK PFR6B- platinum electrodes, 30k service interval) for £32 from a smaller place. Add the same mark up to the other parts and you can see where your money's going. Good luck, mate.

45k and 90k pretty much the same in terms of work. I got turned over for £780 for 45k but that included front pads and discs (also 18 months ago). This was at Gatwick Motors in Crawley, if your going to Bell and Colville drive the extra 40 mins and get it done there.
Are you still under warranty? Did you get the flyer left on your car by Hunt & Keal at last months Surrey Meet? I think this had 10% discount, or something. They're a main dealer, if that's what you want, and they're located in W.London.

If I were you mate I'd get one more quote, from these guys:
AnG Services, (020) 8963-0333. Ask for Angie, he's the scoob mechanic (ex main dealer). They look after mine and most of my mates' scoobs. They're a busy, no frills garage on an industrial estate, but they do pass the savings on.
