Question WR1 colour

Is it just me or have Subaru blown it with the WR1 colour? That light blue looks really girlie IMO.

Surely a special edition to celebrate winning the World Rally Championship should be in the official WRC colour?

I don't get it at all. Can anyone explain why?

Presumably because they wanted something that'd stick out beyond the hordes of WR Blue cars coursing the roads of the UK...

They've achieved that, but for all the wrong reasons They should have gone the Terzo route. Some special decals in WRC yellow would have been nice. So it actually *looked* like a replica.

I think it may be related to the fact that Solberg is known as the 'Ice Man'.

Hence 'Ice Blue'..................

BTW.

I've undertaken a straw pole of all the Engineers in my office in relation to what they think of the WR1 (from the press photo's I have)...........and interestingly, non commented on the colour.

Are we on 'Scoobynet' getting too obsessed with one part of an entire package............??

................I've never heard complaints about the Evo's Banana Yellow or Pastel Purple!!

If you've actually stood next to the car and looked at the colour I think your view may change ... I saw the colour and bought it on the spot. the various photographs that have been put up do it no justice at all. I was at the Autosport show for the entire duration and I couldn't stop going back to marvel at it.

Obviousely It is a good colour otherwise they wouldn't have sold the entire UK quota within two months!

You might be right. Seeing is believing I guess. I just don't think I'll like a pastel coloured Scoob. Apologies to anyone who has bought one btw. I'm not wishing to cause any offence, just my reaction when I saw the pics. I think 'gobsmacked' is the word!

Unclebuck ... as I said the pics do it no justice at all. when I first saw the Chameleon Green TVR paintwork it was in a photo - I thought it was horrible. then seeing one in the flesh changed me completely. It's the same with the WR1 - very few people have actually seen it so the majority of judgements are being made on a poor quality photo.

It is extreme I'll give them that - but at least it's different and not the same old blue with gold wheels (which I like btw) ... which will get boring over time.

"Same old"?! That colour scheme is iconic I'd say. Just like Bentleys are green and Ferraris are red.
