Having a little trouble removing a head bolt it has already claimed 2 brand new sockets and now the head is a fair bit round.

Any tips on getting it out? Best idea i can come up with is an extracter bit.

The last bloody one had to be the one that got stuck

 

to start i would suggest screwing the surrounding head bolts back in to take the strain away from the problem bolt.

Next tap the head of the bolt a few times with a hammer, to break the seal. Now use a quality tool such as mac or snap on and i dont reckon you will have anymore trouble.

I like gareths suggestion..

Either that or drill the head off the bolt.. heads will need a good clean..

Then lift the head off..

Then weld a nut to the top of the bolt and get it out with an impact gun.

 

you could try using a compound colled true grip. it is used in the aircraft industry not sure where you can get it though it is like soggy grinding paste do the job though.

 

Do what David says but instead of welding a nut on you will be able to get a pair of stilsons on the bolt and get it out with those.

 

Have you tried TIGHTENING it very slightly then back the other way?
You can get sockets or ring spanners which bear upon the FLATS rather than the corners of the head. Potentially these will allow more torque to be applied.
