Default Duran Duran @ the Brits - award for trying to turn back the clock - sad

Duran Duran - WHY!? Leave it as it was. You had your moment in the 80's and you did ok.

Seeing a load of puffy old drugged-out rehab-ed has-beens on stage is somehow quite sad.

Thumbs down

Total ******* - always have been. Still they're in good company for this 'award' with the likes of U2 and Sting being previous recipients.

Fair play to the Stones though for repeatedly turning it down over the years.

was it just me, or did they hit a few cack notes at the start?

Guess podgy underworked overpaid has-been fingers don't work that well on the strings no more

Funny how they turned down a very similar award a year or so ago making out it was all beneath them; but now they are more than happy to accept and do a few songs into the bargain – Wouldn’t have anything to do with drumming up trade for their current UK tour would it?

Hmmmm… let me think.

Eurgghhh

I thought they were good, better than what preceded them anyway.

Actually, now come to think about it. Why not. I guess they just want to make a bob or two and milk the market. Fair play to them.

It's the public's fault for buying into it I guess......

I think the idea is that you progress and develop your music over the years, not carry on playing what you wrote 20 odd years ago. Which wasn't much good then.

Contribution to music my ****. Did they push boundries? Did they bollocks. There are far more deserving artists from the 80's that should be winning such grandly titled awards. Dollar, for example

I watched most of the awards just to see Duran Duran (Tries to recapture my youth).

Distance shot of John Taylor and I thought 'yummy', then it got to the close up and i could see all the lines in his face. Its horrible to accept that the band are old.

Yes I heard lots of bum notes. Not sure if I will bother going to see them in concert now. If they can't put any effort/enthusiasm into the Brit awards, can they do any better elsewhere?

They will probably now tour forever like those other sad old bands (stones etc)

I think Duran Duran made a good contribution to the music video.

A lot of invention and style (some of the scenes including the one in South America were stunning)

And anyone who says they don't hum along to any of the old songs if they come on the radio etc (or ordinary world / come undone) is fibbing

The boy

Fair enough..... but they are cr@p and should leave it well alone

Their effort at the Brits was cringingly bad

Thought The Black Eyed Peas and Outkast were a bit good though
