I need a couple of adaptors that go from the 'MAF 4 bolt mounting plate' at one end to '89mm (3.5inch) hose fitting' at the other.

This is so that I can fit a silicon hose between my MAF and GGR filter, in order to place the cone in the wing.

Actually, a couple of dead MAF sensor would do - I can just chop the housings down to size, and bolt them back-to-back with the original fittings.

Anyone know where I could buy some adaptors, or does anyone have a couple of dead MAFs or housings that I could swap for a 24 pack of their preferred beer ?

Cheers

Steve

P.S. Here is a link to a picture, so you can see what I mean...I am separating the pink bit from the black bit !

Why not put an extension between the MAF and the induction hose, putting tha MAF flange in the wing (Extend black bit to blue bit )

All you need then is plastic round drainpipe and pipe to mate to MAF (lorry water pipe or old induction hose would do - or if you are feeling really brave superglue )

Hi Charlie,

Part of my reason for putting the cone in the wing is to distance it from the MAF, in order to cut down on MAF killing turbulence from the cone. Hopefully I'll have more laminar air flow through the MAF, once the cone is 18 inches from the MAF.

Cheers

This afternoon, I'm off to pick up one MAF housing from a friendly tuner with a busted sensor.

That one will cost me 20 bottles of Stella !

Any offers for a second one ?

Cheers

Steve

P.S. I'm not tight - I know I promised a 24 pack, but they came in tens, and I couldn't fit three in a shopping basket :-)

Charlie,

I'm tempted with the APS setup - is it an all alloy construction ? and have you an under bonnet pic showing how it connects to the MAF housing.

Kevin.

The APS duct is a solid piece of aluminium, very nicely made indeed.

I going to do a fitting guide today with pics, as soon as it is done I'll post it up for all to see

Cheers...

Will your cone fit in the wing? I just put the APS kit in, and although there is quite a lot of space it may not be as enormouse as you think!!!

Also, make sure you mount the cone really well as it might get prone to rattling around in there, possible damaging itself.

Yes, there's room. I'm going to drop the cone a bit lower and round the overhang in your pic - I have ordered a 45 degreee bend to do this. I'll do some piccies too when the stuff turns up.

I'll bolt it down well.

Cheers

I'm still on the lookout for one more dead MAF, and the beer offer still stands. Any takers ?
