Hi All

Sorry this is so far off topic, it can't even see the topic. Probably never heard of the topic even... anyway..

I am in spain for a week, I thought I would be able to pick up an internte mag and get a free dial up account easy as pie.

Finding it a real struggle. Any ideas?

I just dont want to dial into the UK at international rates everytime I need to check my email!

I would be grateful

Cheers

Simon

Simon,

You can use Hotmail or a similar site and use POP3 to pull your mail from your normal mail server to the web mail account - see

My ISP (U-Net) offers a free Webmail facilty where I can get my mail either via an email client or from a Web site.

Hi Chaps

Thanks for the replies, but I actually need a dial-up account (ie Telephone number in spain to dial connect to the internet).

At present I am dialing a UK number to connect to my normal dial-up account but they do not provide a number in spain to connect, so I am paying HUGE rates

I have a land line which I can use though.

I had a quick look on the web to see if there were any ISPs I could sign up with online, but had little joy in a short period of time and could imaging the phone bill mounting up, so I stopped looking.

If anyone has any suggestions I would be grateful.

Cheers

Simon

PS I have webmail access through demon.

Thumbs up

Simon,

CompuServe have Points of Presence (POPs) in Spain, though I think they are provided by another ISP. CompuServe seem to cover Spain from their French office (http://support.csi.com/cscs%5Fdocs/sr114.htm) or here are the UK customer service details (http://support.csi.com/cscs%5Fdocs/sr158.htm)

I know, 'cos we set up an account for one of our customers who has employee who lives and works from Bilbao.

Don't know if you can read Spanish, but here are some home pages for you...

As well as U-net offering web mail access, they also have a roaming facility, with local POP's in 100+ countries.
