I'm about to do a mid-service oil change and went to my local independant Subaru centre. After reading Scoobynet I had made up my mind to buy 10/50 or 15/50 synthetic (Motul etc) but they recommend 10/40 semi-synthetic. They said fully synthetic oil will make the engine more rattly??

I would be grateful if those who know what they are talking about could recommend the best oil for my MY00 UK spec.

You will get nothing but conflicting advice as many people (including Subaru) have their own ideas (for differing reasons).
