Yup, it is utterly stand alone - it doesn't require any alarm, and it will work with any alarm fitted

Kudos to Phil for getting this sorted

In reply to your comments and observations, chiark and madgrip,i put the posting i did in manner as to not directley name the installer involved, if the installer felt he was doing nothing wrong in selling clifford so cheap why did he ask madgrip not to name him in the posting. At no point did i imply his quality of work was rubbish or poor.As regarding customers and customer bases i did receive a phone call regarding this group buy from maxgrip and showed alot of interest in this .He told me that he had been quoted 130 pounds by unicar but i was not willing to move on the price quoted of 169 pounds,so yes at that point the deal is anybodys i totally appreciate that. But the annoying part was finding out as well as unicar and other leeds clifford dealers who the only way they can sell clifford is to **** it out was the fact the installer concerned would stoop as low as them which he never would have done when he was in business .I probably shouldnt have replied in the manner i did but i saw red and gave a knee jerk reaction but one of the purposes of scoobynet is to make people aware of who they may be dealing with as regards to making purchases on group buy's.No hard feelings ,David (owner of M.I.)

why did he ask madgrip not to name him in the posting
At a guess, to avoid annoying you? Either way, thanks for the clarification. Let's keep this one on topic

Cheers,
Nick.

Question

Chiark/MadGrip

How did you find out that the Blackjax will work with any/no alarm? I'm not saying I don't beleive. I would like one but I've phoned round a few security companies and have been told that the system is a Clifford add on. If it works with anything for sure then I'm interested.

A stand-alone anti-hijacking system, BlackJax has already saved lives, not just vehicles. You should do nothing in a volatile hijack situation except get out of your car. BlackJax 4 terminates carjackings by allowing the criminal to drive away in your car a safe distance before safely shutting the engine down. With siren blaring and lights flashing, the thief has no choice but to abandon your vehicle.
from the Clifford site

And I'm assured the same by the company doing the installs

Phil

FX02 - I can 100% confirm that they work a with any alarm system or just use your horn as the siren if you have no alarm..
