Question

I know that this might be a stupid qustion, but as I recently had the "check engine" light come on, and I've recently fitted an induction kit (which are probably totally unrelated), I was just wondering what would I experience if the MAF failed?

Car is in for a service soon, so I'll found out what the problem is then I guess, but thought I'd ask nonetheless.

Cheers

Matt

I recently experienced MAF 'failure' in that the wires got carboned up from oil/muck through the panel filter. Symptoms were that the engine limited to 1800rpm. If I tried to rev through that out of gear, then the revs would go above that, but then it stopped firing 'til the revs came down to about 1500, then it fired again and repeated the cycle. A blast of Brake and Clutch cleaning fluid on the MAF wires cured the problem.

Hope that helps,

Graham
