I am about to have my oil changed on friday and i wish to put in fully synthetic .What i would like to know is,do i put in castrol rs 10/60 or motul v 300.Does using synthetic oils make the engine quieter and smoother, as up to now i am using standard oil which they put in on a normal service

I use (circumstances dependant) both of those, currently with the 300V.

How many miles has your car done so far (on normal oil)?

I have covered 8,500 miles since new on normal oil.But as the engine revs over 8,000 rpm i wanted some better oil .

Yep, OK. There's sometimes a tendancy to want to get fully synthetic in before the car has ran in fully. You should be OK at that sort of mileage though.

 

They are both good oils. The choice is yours.
They are the two oils that the people in the know are recommending from previous threads.
