I have a UK99 which I assume runs a TD04.
I am toying with the idea of upgrading to a TD05 or a VF35 (or similar) -thanks John Banks for the free advice

is it a simple transfer? and where is the best place to get one on the cheap?
pitfalls?
thanks for the advice.

Without a remap you'll also need some form of boost control (manual or electronic), and if you want to raise the boost a bit you'll need an FCD.

I'd recommend you invest in knock and lambdalink's if doing this without a remap....it'll be worth it in the long run

prolly be remapped soon after turbo upgrade.
I have dawes mbc, knocklink and sensor, afr meter and boost gauge to keep tabs on it all.
other than that though, is it an easy upgrade to perform DIY?

Ish - depends whether you've got access to the right tools really. Getting the oil return pipe back on is a b*stard!
