Whats peoples opinions on Scorpion exhaust systems (quality, fit, sound etc..) compared to the likes of Magnex, Mongoose, Blitz, H&S etc.. ???

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Wink

I have a scorpion tuner 4" BB fitted to a magnex centre and a Hayward and scott DP. Back box is good no problems not quite as well finished as the magnex ones but in areas you don't see anyway.Tailpipe etc is good.
Sound is deep and burbly but not mega loud like a firestorm!
Can happily drive my car on the motorway and still here my music and hold a conversation with passengers etc. But when you give it some right foot it gives you that subaru roar with what I can only describe as a wooshing sound from outside the car. oh yeah and the back box was only £200. Blitz are loud and pricey but are well finished polished etc. Have heard mongoose are pretty good but no experience of them sorry, Anyway Hope this helps just comes down to personal choice on loudness and tailpipe, budget.
Edited to say Hayward and scott DP quality is ok fitted fine works a treat and they make custom systems to your requirements if you speak to them direct.

I've got a Scorpion downpipe fitted for about 3.5 years and have had no probs with it. It improves spool-up and torque.

Thanks

Sonu

Totally agree with Blitz's comments above

I had a Magnex, and now a Scorpion Tuner 5, Scorpion make the Prodrive Backboxes, only with baffles in the tailpipe so they are slightly quieter

My Scoprion conncects to a Magnex resonated centre & magnex Downpipe

Right... My 2p's worth

I had a scorpion Tuner backbox and centre section on my old WRX, think it cost me £260 for both sections new.
I ran these for about 3/4months with a H+S downpipe.
The sound was excellent on boost but it didnt seem to be as loud off boost as i wanted.
So...
I went out and paid about £500 for a Blitz Nur Spec R system and sold the Scorpion system... Was i dissapointed with the Blitz or what!!!!! It droned rather than the Roar that i had with the Scorpion, It was louder off boost but not in the way that i liked.

If you are not a power hunter, I would reccommend the Scorpion as a very good buy, best 'on boost' exhuast i have heard without being over intrusive off boost.

Rob

When i say 'power hunter' I made 320hp with the scorpion on, but as it is 2.5" rather than 3" like the Blitz i would not have made the 400+ with the scorpion.

The end

Thanks for that Tweenie

Always wondered about the power difference, to me personally the scorpion does seem to be marginally down on power compared to the magnex I had

But its that marginal I hardly even noticed it

and for the first time today I heard my car in drive by mode, and on full chat, whilst I stood and watched/listened certainly doesnt sound that good or loud when Im sat in the drivers seat

Cheers tweenierob thats helped me alot, am not a 'power hunter' (yet), car is just a standard 97 WRX (280 bhp), so if you managed 320 bhp with a Scorpion it should be more than up to the job for my needs.
