Question

I havent made any mod's to MY99 except for a decent ICE install, but its time for a new exhaust and was wondering if people were pleased with the ScoobySport rear silencer?.
What does it sound like and are there any performance benefits or would u recommend something different?.

Cool

JoeRazz

If you want the best sound in the world (flame suit on!!) go for the full SS exhaust system. Got it on my car and I drive with the rear windows down and stero turn off

It does improve performance by quite a bit if you do the whole system by enabling the turbo to spool up a lot quicker.

Where abouts are you? I'm sure there is someone close to you on this board.

Joe,
If Its performance and sound you are after then why not go for the scoobymania back box (bb) and the scoobymania center section this works out at a very simliar price to the SS BB and by removing the center cat you will get a little performance increase (more that bb alone). I'll vouch for the excellent sound from my car which has had the full system fitted recently, a real Group N sound.

You will find an improvement if you chnge the downpipe as well. Not so much a BHP increase but the turbo spins up a lot quicker. This will be further inhanced if you replace the air filter as well.

Scooby sport looks great, have had two now.

Going for a change now as I think it would be nice to be different.

Sm is full three inch though which will have different performance characteristics with full system

Had one fitted on Saturday, and then spent the rest of the weekend driving around freezing cold listening to the rumble.

Not convinced on the performance front though. On a certain stretch of steep uphill dual carriageway where it used to hit x mph by a certain point (not saying how much!), it now hits x minus 5 mph. It was a windy day though, so I need to test it again really.

JoeRazz,

There was quite a good post on here a while back when the Scoobymania system first became available. It went on to be quite a large thread with the owners of both Scoobysport and Scoobymania contributing. I think all agreed that for the older, bigger turbo'd cars (TD05) the Scoobymania system would be better due to it's 3" all the way through. Can't remember the exact reasons, probably best to do a search. I have to say however that after hearing Mattski's car starting up, I'd be going for the Scoobymania system regardless!!! :-)
