Wife apparently ran our WRX dry of fuel yesterday as it conked out when the guage was more or less down to empty. Put in a gallon of fuel but it would'nt start, put in another couple of gallons just to make sure there was plenty and to raise the head to the fuel pump but its still turning over without any attempt to fire. normally I would pull out the spark plugs and give them a dry but they are so inaccessable I thought I'd try for a second opinion first. Also when you switch on the ignition there is no sound from the fuel pump, should that be? Any suggestions gratefully recieved

Check the fuse for the fuel pump, maybe it has blown because of lack of fuel??

Also check the fuel filter is not clogged with crap from the bottom of the fuel tank, or the fuel pump.

Thanks Rig Red, you might not be far off, timing belts OK, no fuel coming to filter in engine bay. Anyone know where the fuel pump/fuse/relay is located? All the fuses in the main fusebox on the right of the engine bay look ok and we swapped most of the relays but still no fuel.

Try looking in Drivers footwell down by accelerator. Should be bottom row, 2nd fuse BACK from Engine bay
