Hi Guys,

This was mentioned in another thread so I thought I would take a look at it.

It is an electronic supercharger. The testimonials are interesting, as are the Dyno plots (various cars) showing notable gains. This looks a completely different beast to those pathetic 'turbozet' things.

What do you think of adding it to a scoob? The only thing I can think of is that it might make the car run lean, that right? Anyone had any experience with them?
Who's brave enough to try one them?

Had a very brief look at it, I think I'm right in saying that it is for normally aspirated cars and the idea is to run a "ram air" (Pressurised Air Box) method to provide more air/fuel mixture as used on most modern High performance motorbikes, (though bikes do it by collected forced volume of air).

No good for a Turbo engine.

Could it not be used in conjunction with the turbo ? I note that in the testimonials and dyno bit an MR2 turbo, 911 etc have had one fitted?

I though that the F40 ran a single Supercharger (low down grunt/go) and two 'smallish' twin turbos?

I mate of mine has had this (or a similar) kit fitted to his MX5 (along with brake and suspension mods!) an is really pleased with it.

I looked at this site before....
the idea of an electric supercharger is a great one, but this a fairly weedy bit of kit.
Basically the idea is to help overcome the pressure drop across the filter and induction system, not generate significant boost.
What would be really intersting would be the compressor stage of a reasonable size turbo (T3 or T4) on a decent size 12v motor.
Incidentally, Garrett and various other people are working on turbos with an integrated generator/motor- i.e. the motor spins the turbo up so there's no lag, the alternator charges the battery when the exhaust turbine's providing more energy than is needed for compressing intake charge.
so it's a combination of turbocharging, supercharging and turbo-compounding.
