Unhappy

Hi,

Yesterday I noticed that the turbo was producing no boost at all. It's something that came overnight as on the previous day I had no problems with the car.
I did an ECU reset and the car seemed to recover from this situation, even though the boost pressure was not normal (I have no gauges, so I cannot tell the exact value).
I took it for a drive today, hoping the problem would vanish like a bad dream, but... again absolutely no boost!
The engine seems fine, idling at 600 rpm. I can hear the turbo spinning, but it just doesn't kick in.

Any ideas?

(The car is a MY 99 with SS backbox)

Andrew

Check that the hose from the turbo to intercooler is still fitted correctly

Thanks Pete

Everything seems in place...
However, I noticed a strange noise while the car was idling. It's hardly audible, but it sounds like something is cracked.

Can this be a broken turbo?

Question

Is the Dump Valve spragged or stuck open?

More likely to be an actuator problem than a faulty Turbo.
