Scoobys common?
Drove 4 miles and saw ten, they were all parked up together and had numbers in the winscreen. Some had plastic things on the roof and no nuberplates
. Them Foresters are common as well saw loads of them at the same place

You certainly couldn't class the Impreza as common - far from it !! It's like any other car you've had - think back - as soon as you buy one you seem to see loads the same but it's just because you're suddenly aware of them (you don't look at the millions of Mondeos, Vectras etc do you !!)
Unfortunately what used to be a very rare and relatively unknown performance car is now reduced to mondeo status , there are far too many around, in fact drive ten miles anywhere in the country and you can gaurantee that you will pass at least two. Okay so its testament to how good the car is that its popularity has grown so quickly over the last ten years but owners should just admit that they are now common as muck and stop kidding themselves that they still drive an exclusive machine, you don't . If you want exclusivity buy a Mitsi Evo , Nissan Skyline or anything with Cosworth on the bootlid.
It would be interesting to know the real % figure of Imprezas on the road but working on the 'drive 10 miles in any direction and you'll see at least two' scenario you'd probably pass about 1000 cars in 10 miles (more on the motorway) so that adds up to 0.2% - I'd say that's pretty exclusive !!
This is the first car that I've had waves and thumbs up from fellow drivers whenever I see a fellow WRX driver.
More common than before, maybe but still a great following for all the good reasons cos we all love the cars, and I'm very glad that I bought this my first Scoob.

M8 , maybe on the M1 you would pass 1000 cars within ten miles, but no where else in the country, and the 2 cars per 10 mile comment wasn't an accurate figure , if anything it was an underestimate. Face it scoobs in one form or another are as common on our roads now as vectras and mondeos, you may not like it but it doesn't alter the fact that its true, so you just go right on playing with facts , figures, numbers and percentages and trying to kid yourself you still drive an exclusive machine, and the rest of us in the real world will continue knowing that you don't.......by the way, personally i think the scoob in all its incarnations is a great car, a classic even, it's just a pity that everyone and their granny has one........
so i guess i'll stick with my cossie for a while longer, now that's exclusive heh heh !!!!

When I hear people say that scoobs are common I ask them what they are comparing them to, Ford, Vauxhall, Fiat and the worst BMW?
Are they common or are they noticed more?
Also when you have people run on about them slagging them into the ground I ask them what they drive, nine times out of ten they shut up fast.

What you have to remember is that until 1999 import restrictions meant that only a few hundred impreza turbos were coming into the country. Its only because import restirctions were lifted that loads have come in. Still a pretty rare sight I did 200 miles on motorway and saw 3, if that what you call common then fair enough
. BTW saw more 911s so are they very common, I guess so.

Guys we are as well to quit this thread right now because we're obviously never going to agree, scooby owners don't want to admit that there cars are a common sight on our roads now, and that's fine, but you have to ask yourselves why so many of you post threads like this in the first place, maybe it's because your minds are beginning to believe the evidence of your eyes................oh and pogue, better to be a muppet than a t**t fella.
