Metalic sound from engine bay??

I have a 99 uk scooby and have a noticable metalic sound resonating from the engine bay at between 2800 RPM and 3300 RPM.Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!!

Hey ho, two replies from me on the same subject in one day

Almost certainly the brake lines touching the bulkhead and resonating at certain revs, particularly when changing up. Solution: find where they're touching (back of engine bay, centre, top) and bend very slightly away, or wrap a bit of insulating tape around a bit of one of them to cushion it against the bulkhead. Cured mine instantly!

Or do a search on posts with "grating" in the title

Could be the heat shield on the downpipe. Not the easiest thing to cure though...

Problem solved, it was a loose bolt on the turbo heat sheild,will fix it at work tommorrow, thanks guys!!
