Right i need to make my mind up sharpish!

What do you guys think?

99 plate Classic Scoob with induction & full De-cat

or

Keep my 02 plate Civic Type R with Blitz induction?

Whats going to be quickest point to point? And what will give me the most overall driving plesure?

Matt

Cool

you get a newer scoob for the same price as your ctr anyway m8, for a start! never driven a ctr myself either, but as i've got a scoob i'm biased the scoob you can use even when it's wet, so in that state of mind...i reckon go for the scoob. plus you shouldn't have to throttle the engine to get it to go anywhere. just going by what i've heard about the v-tec's there bud

try and get an imort scoob though if you can. more power for less money

Keep the CTR mate, i've had nothing but trouble from my first and certainly my last Impreza, picking up my new CTR on Saturday.

From what people have said on here and other Honda forums, the Scoob is ceratinly faster from standstill due to being 4x4, but once going theres little in it, well with a UK turbo anyway.
Thought of modding it slightly??
Sumo Power or Hondata ECU, spoon throttle bodie, decent air filter and a full exhaust system including header should see around 230bhp@flywheel

Wink

don't get me wrong...i've had trouble too. new MAF sensor, new centre diff and new fifth gear all done through warranty, but these are supposedly 99-00 model problems. anything else is down to modding and stupidity or just plain bad luck. worth it all in the end tho

I'd have the Scooby without a doubt. I've never had any problems with any of my Scoob's (unlike both Evo's I owned which were a disaster), the CTR just doesn't feel very quick IMO, I guess I'm just a turbo driver and I also like to relaxed feel of my car which can more than happily pull @ 2250rpm as well as 6K rpm for effortless driving on the motorway in particular.

But the CTR won't cost as much to run (I had one for the 2nd car before getting the CupraR, as it was better on the motorway) and the services were very reasonable.

The CTR is a very quick car indeed, but the Scoob pips it on most counts IMHO.

Off the line the AWD puts the power down effortlessly, no matter the conditions.

The Civic will spins its wheels in 1st 2nd and 3rd, and forget it if its wet!

Then theres the grip... although the CTR handles extremely well, the Subaru AWD set-up is spot on and very few cars can cope with its pace from A-B especially on a B road.

Most importantly though is the sound!

I appreciate that the V-TEC sounds lovely especially in the 6-8k range, but nothing compares to the sound of a de-catted boxer at full chat!

Mucho grin factor!

consider getting yourself a TypeR or RA.

Different animal from both UK scoobs and CTR.

Best buy I have ever made!!!
