Just looking through my entire log carefully (not just the WOT bits).

Noticed that on very light throttle (approx 3%), slow road speed (8-10kmh) and slow engine speed (800-1000rpm), the IGN TIMING momentarily dips to -1.5 or -2deg. The KNOCK CORRECT was positive, +2.5 and +3 respectively. This happended for one frame at a time only.

I can't be sure, but I assume that the clutch may have been transcient at this point in the log (driving around a carpark).

Is this seen regularly? If the IGN TIMING was negative and the KNOCK CORRECT was positive, this would mean that the Base Timing Map would have some negative values there too.

Cheers.

Knock correction is taking over when this happens, thats why you have "+ ve" figures for the knock sensor. If knock was detected, figures would be "- ve".
Can occur when "as you say" changing gear and engine is off loaded momentarily, by use of clutch, so rather than the engine continue on same "map", it detects and reduces standard ignition timing, reducing engine rpm pickup due to light loading.
