Question

I have a UK MY97 car, and have a ScoobySport Downpipe and Backbox. I'd like to get a de-cat'd mid-section, but not sure which one to get!

Do people have preferences?? Cost? Fitting? (because some people shouldn't be allowed to use spanners, and I'm one of them!!)

Preferably in the Surrey area, but I'm willing to travel for good service!!

Cheers

Wink

Andy,

Who's copying who now! lol

I've gone the Magnex straight through route with no resonator box. Paid £91.50.

This is gonna be very interesting at the Powerstation RR day!

Chris,

You're right! I was going to wait until after the MOT in August, but I want flames!!

After seeing your post on it, I thought I have to get me one before the rolling road day!! Where did you get your's from?

Oh and how much was your rear spoiler? It looks top notch!!!

Cheers

Just an idea, but why dont you get your cars MOTed just before you fit your pipes, even if its not due for it it doesnt matter, it just meens a whole 12 mths before having to take it off again.
Just a thought!

Thumbs up

I found the best option was the Scorpion two piece £69incl VAT + £9 P&P from Motech. Ring them on 01933 443390 ask for David.

It cost me £15 to get it fitted.

I couldn't find anywhere that still supplied the non-silenced Magnex pipe, and the silenced was more restrictive and £115+VAT!

Good suggestion mate. Only problem is that there is No guarantee that the car will pass the MOT with just the centre cat.

I might have found a guy who will pass the car fully de-cated! As I think you mentioned, he knows that if I stick the DP on for MOT it will be coming straight off again afterwards.

Just want this crappy weather to clear now so I can get the Magnex on.

Cheers

p.s. Paul you will have to join us at the Pod on the next RWYB day. Sunday was just superb, i'm still buzzin!

Cool

Andy,

Cheers for the comments on the Wing mate.

I'm well happy with the result. Cost wise, the spoiler is £500 + VAT + Painting/Fitting.

I had it fitted by my dealer whilst having the 30K Service. They charged £230ish for painting/fitting the spoiler and colourcoding the sideskirts and mirrors.

Cheers

Question

Akira, would you be willing to share the name of your chap who would possably do the MOT pass without cats? (Mailing me direct would be more discreet?).
Im just south of leicester, and my MOT is up next month so it would be a big help.
Cheers...James

A UK Car WILL pass on front cat only - Prodrive removed my rear cat as part of performance pack, and it still passes 2000 emissions!

Andy. Try ABP Motorsport near Crewe. Magnex unsilenced de-cat centre section - £65. Well made, and mates up perfectly to Scoobysport rear section. Fitted it myself in an hour. Well worth it!
