ITG damages your MAF - RUBBISH !
Just thought I'd let you know that whilst disassembling my airbox assembly for a Blitz cone (grin factor 10 btw) I had the chance to properly inspect the ITG filter and the airbox.
There was a small dribble of the gunk in the bottom corner of the airbox - this is not "fluid" nor "oil" - it is more like glue frankly, its obvious why its at the bottom - its too heavy/sticky to be lifted by the airflow !
From the top of the filter onwards there is absolutely no evidence whatsoever of any oil contamination, the sides of the inlet were dry and the MAF was in perfect condition (amazing how a small thing like that costs so much!!)
The filter was not distorted either.
I wouldnt hesitate in recommending one to anyone.
(but the blitz - oh my god..who needs a dump valve now ?!!)

Lee, i agree with you completely as myself and Bob Rawle saw exaclty the same thing when he fitted the Blitz to replace the ITG on my car recently. All components were gunk free and the filter was not out of shape.
My oh my, what a lovely sound the Blitz makes though!

No problem with the filter oil on mine either, but it was definately making a break for the inlet
.
I found that the mesh had bent towards the inlet, but the filter was still seating OK. I've since thoroughly cleaned and re-oiled it, hopefully it is now less restrictive and won't make a another attempted engine assult!

Racelogic gave me a 10% discount on the Blitz as I am a SIDC member...
Oh, and maybe you guys have been lucky with the level of liquid in your ITGs whereas others may not have been. So the thread title may well be a little misleading, eh Lee? Just because you (and probably the majority of others) have not had problems does not mean that there isn't a risk of MAF damage.
BTW:Welcome to the Blitz cone club...

AFAIK there have been zero MAF failures from ITG filters, and i havent heard of any with Ramair either, although that doesnt mean there havent been any. The only MAF failures I have witnessed were caused by HKS induction kits.
This all sounds like complete scare mongering to me.
