Ive not so long ago sold my Evo 6 and i`m trying to make my mind up between an STi 8 PPP or the Makinen version Evo 6.

Some oppinions would be really great from people on here that have bought the new STi and any possible down sides to it, whats the official spec on the car incl the official 0-60 figure!

Would you say its Subaru`s best car so far apart from the 22b ?

Why not an Evo8?
*My* opinion is that the 'clssics' are more fun. I've owned a 22B for 4 years and in the same time I've owned a MY01WRX and MY03STIPPP, both were bought in the hope that they'd make the 22 feel obsolete, so I could then sell it and get something more exotic. Both lasted less than 5 months in my possesion.
However I know people who are incredibly happy with the new STIPPP who moved to it from equivalent power classics. It just doesn't suit me and unfortunately it takes more than a half hour testdrive to really know the character of the car.
The Spec C (do a search) new STI is supposed to be a corker, but it's import only..which may or may not be a problem for you.

Rob / Chuckster...

I'm in the same boat, currently pondering about upgrading my STi5-R-Ltd for a PPP'd-8.
I had a nice test drive last week, and its damn quick, only a fraction slower than the TypeR.
I have yet to have a good blat in a FQ300, hopefully this weekend I'll have time, already had a sit in one, was leather and it soooo wanted to be mine but you have to compare them both back to back which I can't do yet...
I have to say, when driven normally the PPP'd-8 is lovely & smooth, which is nice when youre stuck on some of the sh1ttiest/busyest roads in Surrey

And Petter wasn't this years world champ in an Evo was he ?
