To help you out.

I've got a type RA. Mods include forged pistons, re-mapped ecu, full de-cat etc.

Rolling road results: 0-60 just under 4.2 secs
Bhp at flywheel : 297
Bhp at Wheels : 257

This was before the HKS induction kit and huge Ninja back box. Breathes alot better now and loads more responsive.

top end is about 110 mph. Maybe more, just that when at 100mph you're sitting at around 5000rpm and don't have the heart to push her anymore.

She's quick and pretty loud inside as they don't include any sound deafening. No electrics what so ever.

297/257 - only a 40bhp transmission loss is pretty damn F good - is that correct as I thought it was more like a 90bhp loss???

I have a wrx ra, it'll do an indicated 140 mph on the track. Not been on a rr yet.

I've heard the transmission loss is low due to gearing but not sure how low.

I've got a MY98 WRX STi (V5) Type RA im fairly sure everything is standard on it, :-
Limited sound proofing, none in the doors
Aluminium bonnet/boot
I think the earlier RA's have thinner glass, not sure about mine (anyone know how to tell?)
Roof Vent
Redline @ 8250
Red Top engine (Closed Deck? - how do you tell?)
Water Spray intercooler (manual/Auto)
No Aircon/Climate/electric windows/electric mirrors/Stereo.
STI Suspension
DCCD ( IIRC default = approx 64/36 split )
STI Rear Plate Diff (uprated)
STI Paddle Clutch (not sure if this is standard)
STI monogrammed exhaust.
STI Spoiler
STI Quick Steering
Low Ratio Box 5th , 1000rpm = ~20mph

think thats about it.
