Wink

had me scooby for a few months now (best thing that i have ever bought) and i now have a few questions
1,at crawling speed in traffic the car seems not to like it and jerks about. is this normal. and a characteristic of a performance car.
2,the brightness switch on the console just operates the clock, is it meant to adjust the brightness of the dials as well
3,have also got a spare down pipe with no hole for the lambda sensor but has got a cat temp sender on it. what model is this for
any help on these matters would be brilliant

If the downpipe is longer than you arm then it is for a classic car, if it is shorter than your arm it is for a new age car...

If you have arms like Mr Tickle then forget the above & send a photo....

cheers guys,,,the downpipe fits on a 98 and was on my uk 98 when i bought the car but have now changed it back to how it should be. so that it now incorporates the lambda sensor which must be fitted.
god knows why this put on in the first place.

Not if you are running a Subaru ECU.

and a characteristic of a performance car.
Some aftermarket ECU's can have crappy cold start, idle, traffic running and so-on. However, if this doesn't apply to you, suspect that something is amiss. Does it idle stably?

No. The bright switch also engages the warp drive, but this will only be enabled once you key the access code in through the primary onboard computer.

Nice one greasemonkey...........the idle speed when warmed up is constant and never really fluctuates and really smooth, and with regards to the brightness switch.........WICKED!!!!!!!!!!!

Cool

There is another use for that brightness switch.....

When I'm out in the car with the girlfriend and she's having one of her blah blah blah sessions I say...
"Listen there's that funny engine noise again..."
Then I flick the brightness switch and say
"Hmm running better now dear, dont you think?"
And she sits there in total silence before going
"Sounds the same."
And I say
"No, the engine computer mapping system is now running the engine on bright setting.......much better"
"Ahh, Ok" she says. Bye now she's completley forgoten about what she was talking about.
Result - No more blah blah blah!

And to think she's got a degree!

Tony
PS Welcome to the world of Scooby's mate, great aren't they?
