Pinking WRX

Please Help Me.
I have a 2001 WRX wagon. The problem is the car drives like cack. No matter what revs it just pinks all the way up through the rev range. I run the car on Optimax.
I have had it back to the main subaru dealer. They said it was the air flow regulator, so they changed it and it made no difference.
The fuel seems to be a bit on the high side 180miles per tank!
I need to get this sorted as it is driving me mad & the warranty runs out in March!!

Can't really help but strongly suggest that you take it back to the dealers and tell them in no uncertain terms that you are not happy and want it sorting ASAP. 180 miles isn't brilliant on the petrol front, assuming that your not thrapping it everywhere due to the way its running.
