Whilst working in our cryo lab this morning i stumbled on a roll of superinsulation, looks like tin foil or mylar. Now my question is this...can it be used to lag any parts under the bonnet to stop heatsoak, for example the pipes from the intercooler to the turbo?? would this be a worthwile mod or should i just stop thinking cos its dangerous?

Depends on how it's attached, what range of temperatures it can operate in, how expensive it is, how fragile it is etc.
