Firstly, happy new year to one and all. Hope you all had a good n safe one.
Anyway, back to business.
If I give the beast some welly in first or second when turning, eg; booting it out of a junction, then I get an odd whine whilst I accellerate, if I let off the pedal then then revs fall (this is obviously normal), and I also hear the whine noise fall as well, I then find that when I steer I get a bit of a judder and accompanying noise, similar to what you'd get if you put steering on full lock and then held it there. If I drive normally, (read sensibly) then I don't get the noise. I've had a quick look and nothing seems to be rubbing.
I am taking a guess that it's the power steering pump, as I seem to remember someone on IWOC having what sounded like a similar problem, and Pete Croney said that it's probally the steering pump.
So...
Does it sound like the steering pump, or something more serious? diff? driveshaft? (hope not, eek!)
Anyone got any ideas.
I'm after knowing as the black beast will, fairly shortly, be having going in to have a full service, tune up, and thorough check over, and if I can nail what's causing the noise then I can get it done at the same time as the going over.

Well, going to answer my own question.
i posted the above on IWOC and got a few repsonses. The main one was to check the PS fluid level, which I did and it seemed rather low, was not even registering on the cap's dipstick so I popped down to halfords, got some fluid and topped it up.
I gave it large, well a little bit, to see if I could reprocde the noise and so far it's not come back. Gonna keep my fingers crossed and will report back in a few days as to if it is fixed (here's hoping)
