Go to Beechdale in Derby.

They have an unsold one sitting in the showroom.

Might let you sit in it if you promise not to drool...

Rob.

My dealership took all its customers up to Knockhill racetrack 2 weeks ago - highlight of the day ? 5 laps as a passenger in the P1 with the Prodrive guy throwing it sideways round every corner !!..The braking is also awesome..even in the p'ing rain like it usually does at Knockhill.

Fun Fun Fun

Wow, I don't believe what a difference fitting a front lip spoiler and a different rear wing could make to an STI... It must change the whole car's persona considerably in order to impress so many other (uk?)impreza drivers... I wonder where I could buy a cloned front lip spoiler from? If I can fit one of these front spoilers, maybe my car will be as quick as the uk sti!

It seems that all or most of the sti folks have a bit of a bee in their bonnets about the P1!.Ok so it is a modified sti-big deal,it's highly unlikely to have a proton as a base for the mods is it now.Yes i have a P1 on order, and i know it is a few grand dearer than an import but i personally like the peace of mind having a uk warranty and a dealer to service it,recognised by subaru uk.

To each his own!!!!!!!!.

Lets end this slanging match and enjoy our scoobies...

Drove one the other evening Moray.

Mid range Torque felt a bit lacking, top end power felt nice.

Don't panic! Your's is quicker.

At least, it was once

I have seen an sti and sat in one.

I was only meaning that it was the first p1 i've seen on the road, and it was about time, with all the delays its had.

The one Beechdale has got is having leather seats, sat nav, bigger brakes, stereo!(doesn't come with one) etc.
so it was all in bits being prepared. Alright for some.

Never mind booked my car(my99) in for service and bad oily smoking problem.

Wait till it losens up. 1000 miles is as tight as a Scotsmans wallet. Give it another 10,000 miles (two owners later in my case) and it will be upto scratch. Anyway with Phase 1 and other mods it will feel light on Torque.

Moray wont like it anyway beacuse its not an STI 3/4. Each to their own. Even the STI V is not a proper Scoooby in his books.

Jonathan

A sad UK owner

Jonathon,

The STI 5/6/P1 are all very good cars (proper scoobies even ). I only prefer the 3 because it is the strongest and best balanced for my purposes. If I was not going to play around with changing bits I would probably have gone for a 3 anyway.

I don't see what big deal is with regards to the P1. The car is a prodrive specified and tuned WRX STI, prodrive have put this tuned STI through UK vehicle type approval and called it a P1. The P1 is a very good car, and I hope you get as much enjoyment out of it as I get from my car, and that's what it should be about, otherwise why bother with the group 20 rocketship running costs?

NeilR,

You have yet to witness the motec... be afraid, be very afraid! (hehe)
