Default new build

Hi all just got this 1995 import wrx, i want to do something differant and this is it, for many years ive been on the nova/corsa redtop bulds and done a few at that, i swaped my redtop corsa for this one, engine is out and in bits as you can see. the problem was the aux belt pully bolt had sheared off leaving half of it in the crank, but it does come with a spare engine happy days. so in the few next weeks mths i might need all your help in putting her back on the road. just a few pics. P.S whats the chance of getting that bolt out....

few more pics down the line....

waiting for s/s manifold to turn up i also need a crank sensor.....HINT HINT if someone on here as one for sale. will put a vid up on the first start fingers XXXXX.

That's an impressive mess of engine parts , much respect for getting it back together and running!!
How do you like the sound of the equal length headers? I have that type on mine and they do sound very different to the OE un-equal length items, it sort of loses that uneven sound that Impreza's have, but I think they sound way better at high revs, but that's just MHO.
BTW te item highlighted in your pic is the boost control solenoid/port system, the pipes will probably be vac pipes relating to boost control, it should be pretty obvious which way they connect up, but if you have low boost or boost issues when you drive it properly then that's the first place to look.
re the slam panel I'd be tempted to weld it up and fit bonnet pins.

hi, the equal length headers dont sound that bad, yes it has lost some of the rumble but i can live with that. the boost pipe's are on right i think not realy been out for a full run yet just down the road.do i need to get a remap because of the manifold or will i be ok ish? thinking of getting a vf28 turbo only because i had one on my sti and it went like **** of a stick.as for the slam panel yes i will weld but no pins dont like them and it will spoil her, next will be painting the skirts and the wheels might go met/black for the wheels not sure yet if anyone wants to do a photoshop for me that would be ace.

My MY99 UK turbo is pretty much the same spec, I think it's basically sti spec v28 turbo, yellow injectors etc, plus equal length headers, full de-cat , induction kit etc, it currently as a ECUtek map but it's had some spec changes since it was mapped by the previous owner, it was mapped with a FMIC and OE 2 port boost solenoid, it now as a later WRX TMIC and 3 port solenoid, I'm planning to ditch the induction kit and fit a OE air box, once I get hold of a air box I'll get it mapped and see what it's got, but it should be good for a reliable 290-300 hp, I had intended to fit a Garrett GT2871r like I had on my old 200SX but the vf28 seems pretty good so I think I'll give that a go rather than spending £800 on the GT.
It's currently running a bleed valve set at 1 bar and it feels pretty quick, athough it's over fuelling mid range, I think it was mapped for more boost then I'm letting it have, roll on a remap

re wheels I think met black / gunmetal wheels look great, plus they don't need much cleaning, my car isn't silver but this should give you an idea of looks with black rims,
