(Each box requires a donation of £2 to cover distribution by the agency who deliver them). Each £2 needs to be enclosed in each box and the box NOT sealed.

Edited to say I am not at all religious and IMO I dont think that anything to do with christianity should be included in these gift boxes being sent but I still think this idea is a blinding one. If people are in 2 minds about giving because the religion being 'touted' isnt the same as theirs please ignore this and give a kid something to look forward to.

Just looked at the ideas of stuff that you are asked to pack in the shoe box. It's quite humbling really... Toothbrush and Toothpaste....simple, everyday items that we take for granted...



Please select from the following YES items:

A cuddly toy
A toothbrush, toothpaste
A bar of soap
A notepad, colouring book
Picture books
Pencils and pens
A set of crayons or felt pens
A hat, cap, gloves, scarf
A small ball or tennis ball
A puzzle e.g. small jigsaw
For boys: a toy car, truck, passenger plane or similar item
For girls: jewellery (e.g. pair of clip earrings, make-up or hair accessories)
A greetings card or a photo of yourself
Sweets (must be well within sell-by date)

Did this last year and my wife and I were in floods of tears. It'll be worse this year now we have our own little boy. We don't know how lucky we are.

The school my children go to does this every year. It's a great idea. It's the satisfaction you get knowing you are making some child very happy. We will be doing our bit.

Same here -- kids do it every year. They save some of the McDonalds happy meal soft toys etc and put em in with toothbrushes, gloves, hats etc.

Sobering stuff. I know a bloke that went and did some of the deliveries to former Yugoslavia some years back and it breaks your heart to hear some of the stuff he saw.

I clubbed the money from Nick and Steve and my cash (£90 in total) in with the collection that we did here at work - we sent 9 boxes with the £2 distribution costs in each box.

I'll post some digi pics of the filled boxes asap

Just finished doing our boxes. My wife is taking them to her school tomorrow for collection.

We did 4, one for a little boy, one for a little girl, one for an older boy and one for an older girl.
