I sometimes do the same, esp if I want to use wheel cleaner on them - that stuff makes a mess of the calipers!

So, not sad at all!

Good idea. I'll clean my winter wheels inside and out before having them fitted. Thanks for the tip!

Suresh

P.S. And no, you're not mad for taking the wheels off and cleaning them, just a little odd

I clean the insides through the spokes every time I clean the car and intend to take them off for a proper clean every 6 months.

I did this with my last new car (then flipped it end over end on the M6 )

DaveyDog, you just remind your wife about the need for proper cleaning techniques next time she needs to clean the perl necklace you gave her

On the old scoob, CEL used to make me clean the wheels cos he couldn't get his arms through the spokes to get those hard to reach bits

I've done that davey, and the wife just shook her head, and went back inside
Will be easier to do next time though, with all the polish I put on them,

6 weeks ago I took mine of to clean with swissol stuff.
Now I just hose them down, wipe with cloth rinsed in car bath, left over from cleaning car. And hey presto no brake dust, just nice and shiny.

Some would call it sad, some would call it enthusiastic.

I would say, immaculate wheels do finish it off, but be careful when jacking it up, as I've seen people put the jack in the most stupid of places.

Only slap the wife if it turns her on!
