Well that's that then

Don't you just hate it when the mass market syndrome happens? Oh well, profit is king at the end of the day and us "Enthusiasts" represent a tiny (Probably negligable) percentage of Subaru's income. Yes we can bang on about the halcien days of Colin McRae, the days when no one really knew what an Impreza was, £21k price tags for a uk car, 6 months waiting lists etc, however (as we all know) The Impreza has returned to being exactly what it was designed to be, a practical, fast enthusiasts car.
It's a shame Subaru have to, because of commercial pressures, change the product line soooo drastically.
Have you seen the proposed Mitsubishi line up not much better but a few stonking bits of kit still to be had.
Time to drift to the dark side? Maybe

lets hope they remain concept! but the small ones "K-cars" will more than likely be for the Japanese market if they ever decide to bring them out (quite a big craze for thse in the local market).




however I can see that subaru are making something to counter the colt evo that some people are saying will replace the lancer evos and the R1e looks like Subaru's effort!

i removed some pics in my first post because they were either photochops (SUV and Compact Van) or an older concept (B11S) i feel they didn't truly reflect what Subaru is trying to show us now (B9, R1e and R2). so when reading the comments above keep in mind that some of them were directed (maybe?) more at the pics i removed (shown below so you know what they were)







this is not to say i like or dislike the new look, just that the removed pics were photochops from a unknown source. the B11S concept is old and wont be shown at the upcoming Tokyo motor show; leading me to think that it is going to undergo more change or maybe even scrapped.

All of the above new cars look cr*p. The convertable is a nice idea - but not a battery car. . . . . .please! Oh and it is a bit jorrid looking.

The B11S however that was shown a while ago, had some potential, albeit a couple of bits needed some work to get the styling right, but otherwsie that was a nice looking car, unlike the boxes on wheels above that could have rolled out of any Kia/Hyundai/Daewoo (you get the idea) factory and sold for £5000 brand new loaded with all the options.

No one is going to pay Subaru premium for these cars as they are nothing special - what are they thinking ? Why don't they just stick to what they know ?
