I second the APS kit, I have it

Only snags are:
price (!)
flexi dodgy silicon hose (I didn't know there was a hard hose kit available.
loss of the fog lamps if you have the DR650 kit

As to added lag etc I can't really comment, I do have lag now, but I also have lots more power than before! I had a large number of mods completed at once, so could not tell what caused the lag.
p.s I'm running the standard weedy turbo (for the moment...)

Edited to say - this is on an MY01 WRX BTW

Currently have MY01 with full decat exhaust, up-pipe, headers and Tek3. Shortly fitting a TD05 turbo and looking at a Frount Mounted Intercooler.

Any recommendations/options on which intercooler would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Martin

Martin, having seen a couple of the new ages running APS at Scooby Shoot out, and knowing how strong the core is on the APS, i know where my preference would lie.

Just make sure you go for the hard pipe kit, which is available for the new age scoob, and not the silicone pipe like mine.

Only one concern is the silicon "flexi" hoses, do tend to find you loose turbo pressure boost "filling" and expanding the hoses before it reaches the engine, thats why you can often get "turbo lag".
If you fit solid pipes to join the intercooler in, with smaller joining hoses, is a much better installation altogether and rids the system of lag once more.

Most new age APS intercoolers are hard cast kits. I have a MY00 as Martin knows, and i get 1bar by 3100 and 1.4 by 3200 these days, and thats on flexi hose.

The flexi hoses on mine will disappear at christmas.
