![Question](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/icons/icon5.gif)
Okay, networking question coming up here. I have two 98 machines connected at home via a Sitecom DSL/Cable router. I copied my mp3 folder which is about 4.6 gig, from machine A to machine B with the intention of re-copying that folder onto another hard drive (in a caddy) which will be on inserted into Machine A (Still with me?). From machine A, I pasted it into Machine B's h/d without any probs however, upon attempting to download the folder onto the new h/d in the caddy, after about 10 or 12 mp3's, it constantly came up with a message saying that it could not copy due to the connection with machine B being lost. This is the only time that it has done this - Anyone got any ideas what was going wrong?

Does the folder copy back to where you originally copied it from?
Have you tried transferring any other huge amounts of data from Machine B to Machine A (either to this caddied disk or other)?

I've had to read this about 10 times, but I think I'm with you now ![Cool](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/cool.gif)
Also going on from what Hanslow said, have you checked that the drive in the caddy is actually ok, ie can you write files to it ok fromt he computer it is in. Many new style ATA drives give very strange behavoural issues when used with non-ATA cmpliant cables
Are you using a USB network card or something odd like this, they can also could wierd problems when trying to transfer huge files.
