Mate, guys will use a gun for a lot less than a £30k motor.

Comes down to risk v reward. The reward doesn't have to be much 'cos unfortunately the risk of getting caught is even less.

Heard on the news last week in coventry that a car-jacking gang took a guys Silver Seat Leon Turbo...he was posting a letter left the keys in ignition, and was beaten severly with the gun before they made off in his car...

Next day a silver Seat Leon passed a Scoob in the city centre, blocked off the road, and a gunman got aiming the gun at the driver, whilst running towards the car. Luckily the Scoob driver made a quick escape reversing down the street and away at speed.

makes me sick and very paranoid about driving my car.

Trouble is with running them over, it takes you nearer the gun

Think reversing would be my favorite

Yep if someone points a gun at me they would not want to get into the drivers seat after i'd just shat myself.Seriously if they start waving guns around they can have the car after the incident this week in Notts these people don't need ANY excuse to start shooting.

The problem with running them over is this. As in the Tony Martin case, the scum were running away when he shot them, so he could not claim self defence. Now if you drive your car at the said assailant, they will most probably turn to flee and you will hit them from behind, so not seen as self defence. Also if you floor it, the police will measure the skid marks and do you for reckless driving, oh and speeding if you were doing more than 30.
So the poor innocent who is run over can sue you if he survives and you'll loose your licence. Best bet is to turn the aircon on, give em the keys and watch him run out of petrol by the end of the road!! Rule Britania, Criminals Rule The Waves, la la la

Thumbs up

I'm with Chiark on this one - I'd get out of the car and stick my keyboard up their ***** !!!

Or maybe I'd run .

The way to sort these fukcers is for the CJS to treat them properly - when they get caught hang the b@st@rds - don't send them on holidays because of their poor upbringing !

Thats true scooby doo

You don't know how you'll react till it happens...

Different people react differently...

Some freeze..
some run like their pants are on fire smacking their own booty as they run in n attempt to extinguish the flames (there goes my imagination again)...

and some don't give a monkeys asto whats gona happen to them they just flip and fight back... and alot of times its out of character.

Lets just hope things like this happen less frequently (looks more like things like this will increase rather than reduce)

Not being funny. But is it really in a crims interest to use a gun for a, at most, £30K car. These arent exotica nowadays. Porsches, Ferraris even McLarens but Scoobs,Lancers,GTRs even Cossies?

Dont get it at all.

True SlowBoy

To many of us £100 doesn't seem too much but to thieves it can mean ALOT especially those who want it for drugs... so something like 30k is more like millions for them.

True - the basic reaction we all have is "fight or flight". I reckon I'd pap it

I've actually had a car taken from me at gunpoint. There was no question of fight or flight...I gave them the keys just as fast as I could.

As slowboy says - Smart man.

Guns are cheap and easy to use close up even in unskilled hands. They are readily avaliable if you know where to look.

Some peole do not value life or have anything like the same values as the average person, shooting someone for something they want will mean very little.

Sad but true.

In reply to other posts, the gun in these type jackings is generally to be used in a later job. Scoobs are not generally stolen for themselves they are stolen to be used as getaway cars in other jobs (a lot of the time in conjunction with something else, Volvo Estate etc). These little barstewards are hard as with a piece in there hands and i have first hand experience of being on the end of having one pointed at you and believe me its interesting!! From a professional stance if this happens to you, get out and let them have it, thats what insurance is for. As for me personally........

LOL @ snowcrash! scoobyreverse is problematic!

Also, aintbroke dontfix, I've tried on many occasions to floor it and make my scoob leave skidmarks; unfortunately, AWD grip doesn't seem to want to let it happen!
