As the title says.....anyone done this, do they fit and how does it sound, looking to get some burble but not loads of noise inside the car.

Thanks,

Andy.

All you'll get is looks. Sounds more or less the same as the WRX box.

I've got an sti box if you want it though ?

£20 if you fetch it. I would expect a slight increase in noise

Andy

I have been privvy to a report done on the STi7 BB and the MY02 pea shooter twin BB.

These are identical to the STi8 and WRX 03 models.

It was shown that...............

We have flow tested the systems back to back. The STi system is ~ 2/3 of the flow resistance of the standard rear box.
This confirms mine and Ru$$rips thoughts that the STi7 BB did make our MY02 WRX's "breathe" a little better and seemed to be a little more responsive. It does also give you a deeper exhaust note and IMHO looks better.

I doubt if the STi BB is less restrictive! The diameter of the pipe to the BB is tapered from 60 to 50 mm. The WRX is 60 mm until the muffler.

Your wrong mate.

Its whats inside the box that counts not the pipe.

Unless you've split the muffler box in half, on both models how do you know. The only sensible way to get an accurate reading is to perform a flow test

You can tell me I am wrong, but where is the evidence? For now I say the 50 mm pipe to the STi backbox makes it more restrictive than the normal WRX backbox! (They both s*ck!)

The evidence is in the flow test results. It's your Prerogative whether you believe me or not, i'm just saying that it is a fact. I can't produce the test report and readings in full because i dont have permission to use it.....yet!

I have certainly not questioned whether they "suck" or not as that was not the question posed.

Like i said, choose to believe it or not, why would i want to lie about it? I haven't even got one on my car, I have a Firestorm

Steve, Pretty interested in your £20 STi backbox myself, how much use has it had?

Mike
