The whole idea of octane booster is as it says to give the octane rating a boost thus creating more power (in theroy). But!, the bottle says empty contents into tank followed by 50ltrs of fuel. Now thats a full tank so the car is going to be heavier. Wouldnt it be better to not put as much fuel in so your saving wait, effectivly giving you the power that the octane booster would have given you anyway?!

If ive got this all wrong im gonna feel daft!!!

You could I suppose put in 1 litre in at a time and 1/50th of the OB bottle but that would be a bit laborious.

Putting in 50 litres does add considerable weight to the car but adding a 250 / 500ml bottle of OB isnt going to increase the weight by much is it.

You've got this a bit skew-whiff. The main effect of octane booster in a turbocharged car like the Impreza isn't to create more power, it's to ward off detonation, thus preventing the ECU retarding the ignition (which reduces power) and obviously reducing the likelihood of engine damage.

BTW, which booster are you using? You shouldn't be using a whole bottle of NF per tank of fuel!

Thought you had a UK car though? If so, no necessity, and little need to use booster.

LOL@tweenierob

Ever heard of dilution..??

All you need to do is keep the same dilution just use less volume of fuel and octane booster...
