Exhausts and stuff...
#1
The car...208bhp '98impreza.
Anyone have data on fitting a free flow exhaust ex std manifold after killing the pussycat...not that i intend to mind you.
Cant find data on relatively important scientific findings especially for an equivalent to a 1,000 quid on an Apexi exhaust system and K&N air filter injection kit that costs another 250 quid...and i'm about to spend an equivalent of a thousand quid on something i dont know?
Anyone experienced with these 'tuff that can give input?
help?
*I'll try getting input on chipping later....humphh :/ *

Malique yes we probably are logged on at the same time.
However you probably have more than half a clue as to what you are doing.
I could not currently make this claim (or one remotely similar).
Post 1992 cars require by law for the cat to be in place for the MOT test to be passed. any vehicle not capable of passing an MOT test, is in contravention of the law. (like driving at 35 mph in a 30 mph zone).
I removed the cat from my 1992 Renault Alpine A610 (still got it in the garage somewhere) and it absolutely walked the emissions test during it's MOT.
Opinion on what emmissions are damaging what is as changeable as........ something that is very changeable. (couldn't think of a witty example). Don't worry just go ahead the advantages will be clear engine spins up far more freely.

£1000 quid! Bloody hell! you must be rich, still I wanted another opinion this week so here it is
GGR do an excellent system(stainless exhaust and filter thingy) and it will cost you about that, they give power outputs as 10 bhp for exhaust and 8 for the induction kit , anyway you can have it with or without catalyst. looks lovely too all shiny and long.

Malique is in Malaysia (his profile says so)
Therefore our MOT is not relevant.
This is not meant to be a smart **** comment but out of interest I always check the profiles of members before answering their queries.
Please dont take offence - this is just a tip.

Steve.
no offence taken if you look carefully you may notice my 'elephants hand' approach to keyboard skills, it is comparable to my lack of knowledge in posting E. Mail
Thanks for the tip.

I would also like some feedback on exhaust mods, but my budget is about half that of malique's. The couple of people I've asked seemed full of praise for the ScoobySport box, but when questioned they only seem able to quote from their advert. Any constructive comments on the Scoobysport or others would be apreciated.

Scooby Sport back box = great sound possibly some power with associated Ram air filter.
New front down pipe, even greater sound.
Significant improvement of the feel of mid range punch.
Now pulls all the way to red line :-)
Results post Uxbridge dyno!
