Is it worth it?

The car as a whole sounds very problematic and temperemental. With the clutch judders, geometry settings..etc.etc.etc (ref: FAQS:tech. Q.), Are these isolated cases or common problems?
I'm contemplating buying a '96 STi II but feel kinda put off.
Words to the wise pls. :-)

On the whole, the cars are fantastically reliable, and great fun to drive.
On the whole, they don't have many common faults, and certainly nothing major to worry about. After Subaru UK wouldn't give a 3 year warranty with the cars if they were unreliable or expensive to maintain in any way.
The geometry settings are just for "enthusiastic" drivers, who wish to dial out some of the understeer present with the factory settings (for safety reasons).
As long as the car you are going to buy comes with at least a 12 month warranty (and FSH), and seems OK to drive then you shouldn't encounter anything more than routine servicing.
