shake rattle and roll......

Is it common for all scoobs to suffer from internal rattles? There seems to be a few complaints about this and I know mine does (MY98) to varying degrees. It is putting me off having the car lowered (I presume this makes it stiffer providing more rattles?!). I used to have a Renault Megane 2.0 16v Coupe, this rattled like a baby's toy and was a major reason behind selling it, I dread to think that the scooby is going the same way, I've only done 9000 miles.

HAD A LOT OF RATTLES FROM REAR OF CAR- HARD TO DETECT, CAME FROM INSIDE THE TAILGATE ( 5 DOOR), SORTED BY GARAGE. ALSO PROBLEM WITH STEERING COLUMN AREA AFTER RADAR DETECTOR WAS FITTED - STILL NOT SORTED.HAVING SAID THIS CAR HAS 55K AFTER 1 YEAR AND HAS NOT GOT ANY WORSE .

Company car- managed to persuade boss to change from a Rover 620.The car has needed nothing but regular servicing - in fact I reckon it freed off and drove better after 24k- especially engine/ gearbox/ drivetrain.
first set of bridgestones lasted 24500k.put on continentals only got 16k.( Back to Bridgestones- better all round).Front pads lasted 24500 also-( garage reckoned 38k) - believe me I drive this car hard and nothing has went wrong at all - performance has not changed - it will still show 150 - the only thing i would change is to spec. air con -gets too hot in summer.PS-( super unleaded improves overall).
