Am the proud owner of a UK 2000 AWD SportsWagon T reg. I am looking for advice on moddin the engine/exhaust. Have approx £1000-£1200 to spend. But don't no where to start. Not after great increases in power, more drivability.

Thank you in advance,

Nursey

Start with a new exhaust....the quickest, cheapest way of increasing BHP and enhancing that flat four burble.
I just fitted an H&S decat downpipe(£200 normal price...but i made a substantial group buy saving) and a Ninja B/B (£199 from Scoobyworld) and i already had a factory fitted decat resonated centre on my year 2000 Classic. I also have a ITG filter (£40 fitted)
I started with about 218 BHP and now have about 240BHP.
The decat downpipe is most definately something to go for.

Thanks Pappasmurf for the advice.

Someone metioned not to put an oil impregnated air filter on a 99 model. Is the ITG filter one of these?

Is it okay to fit one?

Marion.

Nursey, do a search on MAF failure & you will learn all about contamination caused by oil impregnated filters, personally i have a MY99 STiV fitted with a K&N57i & have no probs at all, its really a personal choice

Exhaust is definitely the way to go initially. In addition, how about a Manual Boost Controller? Just don't forget to also get a Knocklink, Air/Fuel Ratio Meter and a Boost Gauge, so you don't up the boost too much and upset your engine...
